Lorrie Morgan, Honorary Chair of St. Nicholas Ball, welcomes Kelly Lang
Hendersonville, Tn. November 12, 2007 --- Lorrie Morgan, Honorary Chair of Our Lady of the Lake’s St. Nicholas Ball announced today that Kelly Lang will be performing during the Ball on December 1, 2007. “Kelly has joined me on stage many times to sing "It's a Woman Thing," one of the songs we have co-written for my new album.” Said Lorrie Morgan. “It is my pleasure to announce that Kelly will be performing for our event.”
Kelly Lang is well known in Hendersonville as a singer for charitable causes. Kelly was featured in 2006’s “A Night of Healing” for tornado relief, helping to raise almost $70,000 for the United Way of Sumner County Tornado Relief Fund, according to Mike McClanahan, the President of United Way of Sumner County.
The St. Nicholas Ball, whose major sponsors are Music City Fire Sprinkler, Botsko Builders, Valerie Slaughter of Bankers Life, and Exit Reality will be the first Annual St. Nicholas Ball at Our Lady of the Lake Church and the Hendersonville community. Events for this holiday kick off weekend begin with Gingerbread House Competitions, Cindy Lou Who Essay Contests, Tree Lighting, Boat Parade, and the St. Nicholas Ball. The weekend will end on Sunday Dec.2nd with the 25th Annual Hendersonville Christmas Parade which will benefit the Samaritan Association.
The December 1st St. Nicholas Ball will be held at Our Lady of the Lake in a Tent from Liberty Party Rentals. Valet parking provided by Saturn of Rivergate will greet you at Our Lady of the Lake on Stop Thirty Road. Ambassadors will greet guests with specialty drinks from Tommy Bahama Rum, for the opening cocktail hour. Lipman Brothers will provide wine for the evening.
Chef Brian Mnich of “A Chefs Secret” will prepare the holiday fare and Tom Campbell and Friends will join Kelly Lang in entertaining the guests. During the evening, the Gingerbread Houses will be auctioned off to the highest bidder. No tickets are available since this is a sold out event. Call for information for next year to 615-824-3276.

A message from Kelly: I am so glad you stopped by my website.
Feel free to browse the site, listen to some
songs I have written, and visit
my art gallery.
Be sure to check my event schedule and if you see that I'm appearing in your
town, I hope you will come out and see me. I really enjoy meeting my fans and
even if you aren't a member of my fan club, you
can still be included in Meet & Greet if you let us know ahead of time that
you will be there. Just send an email to
my fan club,
with "Meet and Greet" in the subject line and one of my fan club volunteers will
make sure your name gets on my M&G list.
If you have been to my site before, you probably
noticed that we have made a lot of changes. If you find a graphic that isn't
loading or a link that isn't working, I do hope you will let my
webmaster
know.
This whole web site thing is new to me but exciting at the
same time and I love it. I have spent time away from television for a while now, raising
my two children and I have discovered two other
passions; songwriting and oil painting -- who knew? Because of this,
as you can imagine, I stay pretty busy. I always take time to read any
letters that come through the website and although I can't possibly
answer each and every one, I can assure you that I DO read every one and I
DO appreciate every one who takes the time to write. Your letters have
always been important to me but especially this past year. After my cancer
diagnosis was made public, the out pouring of
cards, letters and emails from around the world was amazing. There are no
words to adequately thank everyone for their kindness and especially their
prayers.
I run into people all the time who remember me from The
Ralph
Emery Morning Show; a local TV show here in Nashville. I spent six
years on that show and I am very grateful for the experience. Ralph is still such
a dear friend, and like a father figure to me. Some of you may remember my father
Velton Lang,
he was Conway Twitty's road manager for 25 years. Daddy passed away
seven years ago, and I miss him so very much. Can you believe that it has been
twelve years since Conway passed away? I wrote a song about Conway and my friendship with him, it is
called Goodbye Darlin, and it is included on my album
It's
About Time.
I have been blessed with an exciting life filled with dear and close friends.
I will share photos from my scrapbook for you all to enjoy. I still
travel on the road a bit doing special shows and am very happy to be a new
addition to Third
Coast Talent booking agency ... if you would like to have me booked in
a venue in your town, you can contact them or you can send a note directly to
me via my fan club.
As I mentioned before, I have really grown passionate about writing songs.
You can go to my music page, and actually hear samples of some
songs I have written and performed. You can purchase my
album and other CDs in my new music room.
I fell into oil painting by accident. One of the closest people in my life,
TG Sheppard, gave
me an oil painting kit for Christmas a couple of years ago. He thought that
since my brother Michael Lang is a professional artist, and my mother is an artist as well, that I might enjoy it. Well, I do more than that.
I love it almost as much as I do playing music. Click on to the art gallery
page and see the paintings I have displayed.
Please keep in touch with me through e-mail, our
message board or the
fan club... I enjoy hearing from you and I am so grateful for your support.
Your friend,
Kelly Lang
